Ashura: A Day for Introspection and Moral Accounting

In the Name of God,

 Greetings and Blessings,

We hereby cherish the Day of Ashura as an opportunity for self-reflection, a day to examine our deeds to determine where we stand in the ongoing struggle between Truth and Falsehood; a day to scrutinize the sustenance we bring to our tables, our opportunism, our services and betrayals, our gratitude and ingratitude, and in short, a day to evaluate our own selves, as we sit in the privacy of our own inner court.

I offer my condolences on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (PBUH), the embodiment of freedom, justice-seeking, and resistance against oppression, to all his followers, and all proponents of Justice and Truth, also to all those who stand against injustice as free-spirits.

With the hope of recognizing and realizing the lessons of Ashura, and manifesting them through our deeds.
